About Us
The Association for Academic Enneagram Studies (UAEAD) was founded to promote the research and development of Enneagram knowledge—one of the most powerful and insightful tools for understanding oneself and others on a scientific basis—both in our country and internationally. Our association was established through the efforts of Turkey’s first Enneagram educator and researcher-author Mr. İsmail Acarkan, together with Psychiatrist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Yanartaş, Psychiatrist Asst. Dr. Ece Ilgın, MD, PhD, Psychologist Duygu Sancak, Hasibe Zafer, Ceyda Kaya, Mehmet Aca, and Sociologist Hakime Özgüven. They initiated the association’s work on Enneagram knowledge. At its core, the Enneagram is an ancient system that helps us perceive personality on a deeper and more objective level, serving as an invaluable guide on the path to scientific self-knowledge. UAEAD will continue its national and international efforts to explore this profound wisdom through scientific methods, enhance its validity, and uncover its full potential. Our association has developed annual programs to carry out scientific studies dedicated to the many unique aspects of the Enneagram and their connection to human nature, including peer-reviewed publications, international conferences, workshops, and educational programs. The headquarters of our association is located in Istanbul, Turkey.

Promoting Academic Rigor: Encouraging and comprehensively supporting quantitative and qualitative research on the applications of the Enneagram in psychology, education, sociology, and other related disciplines.
Facilitating Knowledge Sharing: Establishing a dynamic platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience among Enneagram researchers, scholars, and ethical practitioners.
Establishing Ethical Standards: Ensuring the development and implementation of the highest ethical principles and robust methodological standards in Enneagram research and practice.
